Adele‘s album “21” recently topped Carole King‘s “Tapestry” on the Billboard 200 list as the longest charting album by a woman. April 15th marked 319 weeks on the list. Read more after the cut…

The album “21” was debuted at No. 1 in March 12, 2011 and has remained number one for 24 nonconsecutive weeks and is currently resting at No. 103. While “Tapestry” was debuted at No. 79 in 1971 and had remained on the chart for 302 consecutive weeks before it dropped off the chart and it reappeared in June 26, 2010 for an additional 16 nonconsecutive weeks. In 1971 it spent 15 consecutive weeks at No. 1 spot.

Adele’s most recent “25” is currently at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and has spent 71 weeks on the chart since its No. 1 debut.
